"Those are drawings?!?", this is something I hear when I take my drawings to LEGO conventions followed by "do you draw anything from LEGO Lord of the Rings?...
...At the time, I had BUT as a 1 off commission of the LEGO Frodo and Sam (no prints were made)
So I set about creating a drawing of the most iconic character from the books: Gandalf The Grey!
My goal was to capture him on an important quest with the fate of Middle Earth on his shoulders
A background was definitely needed to convey a hurried voyage through thick undergrowth and also increase his scale from a 5cm tall plastic figure to a "humanised form"
Only 50 fine art prints of this piece exist. Each is signed and numbered by myself and printed on museum-grade archival paper, preserving every razor-sharp detail and brick-like texture.

Framing
The price above is for an unframed print
Due to the clean, modern nature of my work, I highly recommend a simple black wooden frame with a white mount
HOWEVER, I appreciate not everyone has a local framer...

All prints ship next working day (cut off time of 4:00pm BST)
Domestic (UK) orders arrive within 1-3 working days
International orders arrive within 3 - 14 days dependent on where you are (a more accurate delivery window is given at checkout)

Both A4 and A3 prints are shipped flat in an enforced cardboard wrap

The background on this piece actually took me longer to do than the Gandalf Minifigure...
...probably down to having to draw 100s of circles in order to create the Bokeh effect 😅

My Materials:
I've been drawing for over 6 years and in this time, I've used A LOT of different pencils...
BUT there are 2 that stand out against the rest:
- Faber castell Polychromos
- Caran D'ache Luminance
These are the finest coloured pencils money can buy and I used them to create this realistic LEGO Gandalf drawing
I use them on top of a base layer of alcohol markers so the colours look EXTRA vibrant like actual LEGO pieces!

How long did this drawing take you?
The sketching, marker work and coloured pencil work combined took me just under 30 hours
How close are the prints to the original?
I scan my drawings at the highest resolution possible to capture every single pencil stroke...sometimes it hard to tell the difference between the original and the print
What frame do you recommend?
Due to the clean, modern nature of my work, I recommend a simple black wooden frame with a white mount (These prints are on standard paper sizes so are easy to find a frame for online or at your local framers)
How will my print be packaged?
The A4 prints are posted flat in a sturdy cardboard box and the A3 and A2 prints are shipped in re-enforced card board tube
