The story behind the art:
whenever I take my art to LEGO shows,
this is the piece that grabs everyone’s attention…
I was given the model as a Christmas present
(at the time I had drawn a few LEGO cars)
my dad jokingly said that I should try drawing it…
…to tell the truth…
…the idea of trying to draw this scared me!
There are hundreds of pieces all at weird angles BUT worst of all…
TONS OF STICKERS!!!
Once I built it, I put it on a shelf and told myself it was just too complicated to draw
however…
I kept looking at it everyday…
It dawned on me that I was being a wimp!
So one morning, I took a photo of it and got to work
I realised that I could also make it a 1:1 scale drawing of the model
I didn’t know it yet BUT this piece would end up being my most time consuming and detailed drawing EVER (taking just over 65 hours to complete!)
This is why I want to ensure the home it eventually hangs in is perfect...

Basic Info
FULL colour realistic drawing of the LEGO Technic BMW M1000 RR
Displayed in a bespoke hand made frame -finished with gallery grade art glass (Frame has hanging string to go straight on your wall)
Completed using the world's finest coloured pencils (Faber Castell Polychromos) a top an alcohol marker base (done with Windsor and Newton Promarkers)
Took a total of 65 hours to complete

1:1 Scale Drawing
I realised when starting this piece, I could draw it the exact same size as the actual model...
To do this I measured the wheel of the model and made sure the wheel of my drawing was the same diametre...
...because I was using a grid to scale it up, all the other pieces would then be actual size too!

The Frame 🖼️
The piece is professional framed using hand painted, wood with a pure white mount and protected with gallery grade art glass that is non reflective, UV and moisture resistant ensuring the piece is well protected.
It's fitted with a hanging string on the back so is ready to go straight on your wall. (The certificate of authenticity is mounted to the back of the frame)
