LEGO Mandolorian And Grogu Minifigure Drawing - ORIGINAL

My ORIGINAL coloured pencil drawing of the LEGO Mandolorian and Grogu Minifigures

For Christmas in 2023 I got a small LEGO micro-fighter set of the N-1 starfighter...

...this set contained the LEGO Mandolorian and Grogu Minifigures.

I had drawn a few LEGO cars at the time BUT not a Minifigure in coloured pencils!

So on boxing day, I set out on a mission to create a drawing of my new figures

The 1st task was to get a reference photo to work from...

This proved a challenge as I wanted the characters to be in a dynamic pose...

...but the Grogu Minifigure has NO "posability"!

I ended up using a lot of blue tac to hold Mando in a running position and blue tacked the Grogu Minifigure to his jet pack!

My next task was to get a sketch...

I did this by using the grid method to make it as accurate as possible

It was then time for inking which involved markers and fineliners...

here, I'm jotting in the most obvious tones and colours (creating a base layer for the pencils)

The final stage was using the coloured pencils to add in all the details

I'm super happy the chrome effect on his helmet and the shine of his armour!

The piece was officially finished on the 2nd of January 2024 (dated on the piece)...

...and remains to this day, my favourite LEGO Minifigure drawing (despite having done almost 20 more since)

I made 30 limited edition art prints of this drawing and they are still the fastest prints to sell out!
